Extreme environment photographic exhibition 2011

Australian and international photographers were invited to submit their photographs taken in extreme environments for judging in the 2011 Extreme Environment Photographic Competition.

The Trafalgar prize for the Extreme Environment Photograph of the Year is open to amateur and professional photographers. There is a $5000 prize. The winning image shall be the one which best captures humanities enduring endeavor in extreme antarctic or arctic environments. The image will convey isolation, exposure, endurance or the power of nature.

One of Australia’s richest prizes for a single image, the Wayne Papps Memorial Prize offers $2000 for an outstanding image from the polar regions and oceans by an amateur photographer.
