Wilkes Station History
Darryn Schneider and Bill Burch have set up an interesting site on the history of Wilkes station. Filled with photos and a sound 'bite' of the huskies being fed, it's a great record of a station long buried by ice and snow.
Mawson’s hut in miniature
Rod McKenzie has some surprising talents including being an expert maker of miniature dolls houses. This article details the building of a 1/12th replica of Mawson’s hut –a work of art. The model is currently displayed in the ‘Islands to Ice’ exhibition at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
